Boot Into Tethered Mode After iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak Using iBooty 2.2

March 29, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

As you know, after jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on the latest iOS 4.3.1 firmware using the Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1, you have to boot your iOS device into tethered jailbroken state using iBooty tool of iH8sn0w. This iBooty utilizes iTunnel to upload pwned 3.1.2 iBoot, iBEC and Kernelcache file that allows all the new bootrom (iBoot-359.3.2) iOS devices to boot into tethered mode.

NOTE : The .DFU and .Payload files utilized by iBooty are unique for every iOS device. When you create iOS 4.3.1 custom IPSW, Sn0wbreeze places iBooty and required files on your desktop along with CFW. Well, if iBooty.exe fails to detect your iOS device, then it indicates that iBooty is unable to find or access the respective .DFU and .Payload files for your iOS device.

How To Boot iOS Device On iOS 4.3.1 Into Tethered Mode Using iBooty

Step – 1 : First, connect your iOS device with your computer via USB cable.

Step – 2 : Now, launch iBooty.exe and select your iOS device from the drop-down list.

Step – 3 : Then, click on “Start” button and then put your iOS device in DFU Mode by following the instructions below;

  • First, press “Home” and “Power” buttons on your iOS device.
  • Now, press “Home+Power” simultaneously for 10 seconds.
  • Then, after 10 seconds, release the “Power” button, but keep holding the “Home” button until iBooty recognizes your iOS device in DFU mode.

Step – 4 : Once iBooty recognized your iOS device in DFU Mode, it’ll patch your iBoot with Limera1n exploit.

Step – 5 : After exploiting using Limera1n, iBooty will reset the connection of your iOS device.

Step – 6 : Once again, after iBooty recognizes your iOS devices, it will upload the LLB (Low Level bootloader).

Step – 7 : After completed, your iOS device will be rebooted automatically and won’t stuck on Apple logo.

NOTE : Though Sn0wbreeze creates iBooty folder on your desktop along with custom IPSW, but if for some reasons, you are unable to find iBooty folder on your desktop, use the download links at the end of the article.
