As reported earlier, recently, the security researchers have been discovered that the iPhones, iPads and iPod touches are secretly tracking your location data, and after that revealing many were in horrors and there are so much issues on everywhere regarding this. Till date, Apple has kept silent on this topic, but interestingly, today Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, has broken the silence and officially responded to the iPhone location tracking saga, but despite being on a leave of absence from Apple, CEO Steve Jobs apparently has responded.

iPhone has been tracking location data

Well, according to the report by MacRumors, one of their readers has sent an email to the Apple CEO Steve Jobs, asking for clarification on iPhone location tracking, at the same time, also indicating about a switch to Google’s Android, if an explanation isn’t given.

Q: Steve,
Could you please explain the necessity of the passive location-tracking tool embedded in my iPhone? It’s kind of unnerving knowing that my exact location is being recorded at all times. Maybe you could shed some light on this for me before I switch to a Droid. They don’t track me.

A: Oh yes they do. We don’t track anyone. The info circulating around is false.

Sent from my iPhone

Though the authenticity of this email has yet to be verified, but, if this email has anything to go by, then, Jobs has denied the claim, suggesting the fact that Apple isn’t tracking iPhone or iPad users with the data stored locally on the device, whereas Google on other side does on Android phones for their core business, that’s search and advertising.
