January 19, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

As you know, there are many excited iOS games to play on the iPhone with multiple levels and achievements to unlock. Hence, you wouldn’t want to break your game progress and achievements in that particular time when you have to restore your iPhone. But, those iOS users who rely on jailbreaking, they have necessarily required to back up data. And hence to upgrade to a new iOS version, a jailbroken iPhone is completely wiped and updated to the default setup for the next iOS release. Then, again a new jailbreak is to be applied, and need to reload all the personal data, such as, media, contacts, jailbreak apps etc. Now, you need not to worry for the above ! This is because through the magic of SSH, now you can save your iOS game data on your computer in the event that you have to restore. Just head on below for the step by step guidelines.

Step – 7 : After opening the folder, you will see many files and folders. Now, copy all these files and folders to your computer.

Well, you can use this method for any iOS game that you don’t want to break your progress. After you have completed the above steps successfully, then comfortably wipe and restore your iPhone clean. Also, after you re-jailbreak and re-sync all of your apps back into your iPhone through iTunes, you can copy these data back into each game’s respective folder through your SSH client.

NOTE : Normally, the progress and achievement data is stored under “Documents” in each game’s folder, but sometimes these data can also be saved under Library/Preferences. If that happens, then you’ll have to copy all of the “Preferences” folder (except for the com.apple.PeoplePicker.plist file), then drag that content back onto the iPhone again once the device has been restored.

NOTE : Also, sometimes, the “Preferences” folder will only have the com.apple.PeoplePicker.plist file i.e. the game has its files saved in a different path. If you’re in that case, then all you have to do is that look at the names of the files and figure out that contains the game’s save information.

Well, if you’ll find any difficulty while going through the above steps, then don’t hesitate, just write to us in our comment section below. If you’re successful, then also share your experience with us. As usual, stay tuned with us for more recent updates.
