Well, here’s something for our iOS device users! Have you ever wished mobile Safari had a few little features like a built-in URL shortener? How about being able to set an actual home page? How about the ability to see web pages as a computer instead of loading a watered down mobile version of a site? Well, here’s an alternative solution to Safari, Peaknet. Let’s have more information on this from below.

Peaknet iOS browser alternative

Peaknet Features

  • Share links via Twitter, Facebook or E-mail.
  • Easily set a home page from right in the app.
  • PC mode, which disables the mobile versions of sites.
  • Link shortening.
  • Bookmarks
  • View some flash content, by following a link in the app.

Using the newly released Peaknet is as simple as any other browser. All you need to do is just tap and go, and all the apps settings and features are easily accessible from right in the app. No need to go hunting for them, or to close the app to use any of the features.

However, there are still little features that are on the buggy side. First issue that we encountered is we could never get it to save the home page after a reboot. And the iPad’s settings page doesn’t stay in landscape when accessing it.

Also, other than requiring some help in the UI department, it’s not a bad app at all. It’s nice to see more universal apps in the App Store even though we are sticking to mobile Safari because of the bookmark syncing. But we will keep PeakNet around for those few times that we need to view flash content.

Hence, if you are interested in this newly released Peaknet iOS browser alternative, then, you can grab it from the App Store via Entertainment category with the price tag $0.99.
