Well, here’s some exciting rumors for those who have got bored by hearing only the iPhone 5 related rumors. Yes, now, here comes a new rumor related to the new iPhone 6. According to a report of AppleInsider, Apple will take a next-generation leap forward by implementing new p-Si LCD screen technology in the iPhone 6. Also, according to the previous rumors, the LCD screens should start rolling off the assembly line in early 2012…..

The p-Si stands for Poly-Silicon, and in this case, Low-Temperature Poly-Silicon. Well, according to Toshiba, the world’s first supplier of large screen p-Si LCD panels;

A p-Si LCD panel answers a variety of needs, such as lower profile design, reduced weight and lower power consumption and allows for notebook PCs that are more comfortable and convenient to use.

Also, according to their site, there is a list of advantages of p-Si technology over that of traditional LCD’s. These add;

  • Enhanced durability
  • Increased image quality
  • Lower power consumption
  • Lower profile and lighter weight

However, the above features seem no much useful, especially, in case of mobile devices, it could hint that we’ll see a tougher, thinner iPhone with greater battery life, and improved image quality on-screen.

But, the main alarming at this stage may be the price, we have heard rumblings about how good a bunch of negotiators the folks at Apple are. Undoubtedly, they will be able to keep prices low on the tech by buying up a huge supply.

Well, presently, Apple is using IPS technology in the majority of its product, including the iPhone and the iPad. The competitors on the Android platform have steered towards AMOLED technology which, to be honest, looks very nice under the right conditions.

So, now, it’s really interesting to watch that how far this rumor is true, isn’t it? But, what do you think on this? Just don’t forget to share your views and comments on this with us.
