Well, here’s something for our Apple TV 2G users ! Yes, we are here with the step by step guidelines on how to enter into DFU Mode on the Apple TV 2G. Well, for those who don’t know, DFU actually stands for Device Firmware Update, and one thing keep in mind that the DFU mode of Apple TV 2G is same as the iPhone does. Actually, this allows you to tweak and install firmware and is necessary for some of the hacks available to the device. Let’s head on below to have the guidelines.

How to Enter DFU Mode on Apple TV 2G

NOTE : Well, getting into the DFU Mode on Apple TV 2G is slightly different process from the iOS devices, as it requires the Apple TV 2G remote control and a connection to your computer.

Step – 1 : Start iTunes.

Step – 2 : Now, connect the Apple TV 2G to your computer.

Step – 3 : The, hold down both the “Menu” and “Down” buttons for about 6 seconds, by using the Apple TV Aluminum remote, until the device reboots.

Step – 4 : After the reboot, now release both the buttons, and then immediately, press and hold the Menu and Play button together.

Step – 5 : Now, continue holding until you see a message in iTunes saying “An Apple TV in recovery mode has been detected”.

That’s it ! Now, you should be in DFU Mode, where you can restore and update firmware !
